Fly through the candle’s mouth like a singeless moth- OPENING SOON

Taking its title from Sylvia Plath’s 1959 poem Witch Burning, Petrina Hicks’s upcoming exhibition at Michael Reid Sydney explores the female position in contemporary society. Fly through the candle’s mouth like a singeless moth follows the artists landmark international exhibition Gothique Blanc, a mid career survey show currently showing in Paris.

In collaboration with Petrina Hicks, this exhibition’s installation will be unlike anything our audiences have seen before, physically presenting Hicks’s analogue based photography in subversive but equally beautiful ways.

This exhibition will show between July 15 and August 7, 2021. To register for priority access, please email galleryassistant@michaelreid.com.au
