“Systematic, ordered and intentional, [Formal Arrangements] is an investigation into the formal language of geometry, colour and light. Simple, flat toned objects with little to no detail are found, or made, then arranged under a single light source to create a geometric landscape. Bold colour and tactile forms evoke playfulness, while conscious, ordered placement implies a still permanence and stability.” Jane Reynolds
Focussing specifically on still life and working in oils, Jane Reynolds’ work investigates the formal aspects of geometry, colour and light, working predominantly with hard surface, rudimentary objects.
Jane Reynolds lives and works in Sydney, NSW. Over the past 20 years, Jane has worked as an animation artist and producer for visual effects in film and television. Late 2019 saw Jane retiring from the film industry to focus exclusively on fine art.
