In this monumental body of work, Narelle Autio catalogued her daily findings from a summer spent combing the beaches with her children. Each discarded treasure elevated to the symbolic; tenderly photographed with the childlike sense of wonder that underpins any seaside discovery.
The cumulative effect of more than 150 individual photographs speaks to a granular, sensory experience of summer that is uniquely Australian. From within this mass of images, the viewer begins to draw on their own memory and experience, combining seemingly disparate images to evoke half memories, or imagined narratives.
